Our DSN Global Celebration honors the best of the direct selling channel: the leaders and organizations that are advancing the industry through outstanding achievements, breakthrough innovations and meaningful impact on both people and planet.
Those achievements come in many different forms. And one we consider vital to the continued growth and viability of the channel is consistently championing personal development. That is why this year, we have debuted a new honor—the Bravo Empowerment Award—celebrating an organization that has intentionally incorporated personal development across every area of its operations.
Empowerment requires a proactive approach to teaching, inspiring and investing in people. Authentic, consistent empowerment leads to entrepreneurs who grow confidently; corporate team members who feel known and supported; and top leaders who inspire others.
It was clear to us that the first Bravo Empowerment Award should be given to a company and leadership team that has baked personal development into every facet of their business from Day One. And we are thrilled to celebrate the team at Neora with our inaugural Bravo Empowerment Award.
The Slight Edge
Neora’s mission of “making people better” has never wavered, guiding its leadership through 15 years of highs and lows, battles and victories. This mission isn’t a feel-good nicety; it’s a commitment woven throughout Neora’s onboarding, operations and decision making.
From the moment they open their enrollment boxes, new Brand Partners are brought into the mission-centered fold, guided through new approaches to living, working and seeing the world.
Co-CEO Amber Olson Rourke and her team leverage the power of The Slight Edge, a USA Today bestseller authored by her father, Co-CEO Jeff Olson. The Slight Edge has sold over four million copies and has been one of the most highly regarded books in the entrepreneurial space for over two decades. The book’s philosophy of making small, actionable choices and watching those decisions compound over time into big changes is the foundation of how Neora empowers new and existing entrepreneurs.
“Many of our top income earners didn’t have any experience in sales or direct selling when they started,” Amber explained. “They’re moms, nurses, teachers, lawyers. The amount of time we spend really helping people develop their mindset, their confidence, the way they think and the philosophies they hold, allows people of all different backgrounds to start from a very small goal and scale it over time—all the way to generationally changing their family’s lives.”
Neora has integrated mentorship, personal development and mindset coaching into every part of the business. From book clubs to 10-week mindset mastery programs to targeted curriculum that focus on specific philosophies, the opportunities to grow at Neora are everywhere you look.

Making People Better
Neora is also the force behind the Live Happy website and podcast with a mission to inspire and empower people to make the world a happier and healthier place with hands-on tips rooted in the science of positive psychology. Co-Founder Jeff Olson was instrumental in supporting the creation of the International Day of Happiness, and each year Neora shares and celebrates this tradition with happiness walls and local community events across the country.
And no discussion of Neora’s legacy of being positive force for good would be complete without mentioning their philanthropic arm, The Neora Ripple Foundation. The Olsons believe that kindness is infectious, and through the foundation, the company has raised more than $6M for people in need through their partnerships with Big Brothers Big Sisters and World Vision.
Human connection is everything at Neora and will only become more important as the company continues to grow and build. “Community isn’t just a part of our culture; our community is our strategy,” Amber explained.
The Bravo Empowerment Award is new, but the commitment it celebrates is not. For 15 years, empowerment has been a part of Neora’s DNA and that genuine desire to make people better will see more Brand Partners grow into stronger entrepreneurs, and—more importantly—into the best versions of themselves.
