The Direct Sellers Association of Canada (DSA Canada) announced a partnership with Brock University Professional and Continuing Studies (Brock PCS) to launch a new online training program designed to strengthen professional sales skills and ethical business practices within the direct selling sector.
The self-guided, on-demand course, titled Fundamental Sales Skills for Direct Sellers, will support independent sales consultants in the digital and social marketplace by focusing on real-world skills, including:
- Understanding ethics and responsible business conduct in direct selling
- Identifying lead generation and customer engagement opportunities
- Applying selling strategies across in-person, online, and social media channels
- Building long-term customer relationships
- Setting and achieving income and sales goals
“This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting a professional, ethical and well-trained independent sales workforce,” said Peter Maddox, DSA Canada President. “The course complements the training programs already offered by our member companies and reinforces the importance of integrity, consumer trust and strong selling fundamentals.”
Becky Launder, founder of Modern Direct Seller, developed the course content as a collaboration between industry leaders and academic experts to reflect current trends in digital entrepreneurship and social selling.
“Brock University is committed to providing flexible learning opportunities that respond to evolving workforce needs,” said Nathan Cheney, Brock PCS Executive Director. “This program supports independent learners by equipping them with practical skills that can strengthen both business outcomes and consumer confidence.”
